My name is Yazan and I'm based in California. I am a designer by trade, but art has always been at the core of who I am. I’ve always been drawn to the tactile, physical side of creating—there’s something about working with my hands that brings ideas to life in a way nothing else can. I find myself fascinated by textures, materials, and the way design and art intersect to tell powerful stories.
My background in design is an integral part of the art I create. It’s more than just aesthetics; it's about structure, purpose, and form. It’s this foundation that helps me shape the narratives I want to express—whether it’s our relationship with the environment, the relentless human pursuit of knowledge, or the resilience of the human spirit. These themes are central in my art.
During the pandemic, I discovered a new love: wood. It started as an experiment, a way to keep my hands busy and my mind focused during uncertain times, but it quickly grew into a passion. There’s something grounding about wood—the smell, the grain, the way it feels beneath my fingers as I assemble layers. It feels timeless, organic, and full of possibilities, much like the themes I explore in my art.
I’ve always been a digital artist as well, and I love how the digital and physical worlds can collide and complement each other in unexpected ways. Whether I’m working on a layered wood piece or crafting something digitally, the core remains the same: creating art that resonates with the things that matter to me and, hopefully, to others too. My art is my compass, guiding me through life’s questions and pursuits.
